I use my havalon for skinning deer and it works great for hide removal, however the blade can come off if youre not carefull.

Never looking back...
Got this for processing wild game & farm animals. Have always loved a good sharp blade but now that Ive experienced using a Havalon knife Ill never go back to a "traditional" knife for my processing. No more wondering if Ill need to sharpen my blade mid-way thru a job or worrying about getting a nick in the blade. The easy blade removal made cleanup a breeze.

Love the knife works great.Easy replace blades but?
I love my piranha knife works great I use 1000 times a day I have had 3 lost 2 so far because the clip bolts back out way to easily the holes on the clip itself are to big and sloppy poor tolerance so the clip wiggles back and forth until the screw backs out and you will never find those tiny little bolts again. If you guys would make tighter hole on metal clip and maybe put loc tite on it. I really do loves these knives but this clip problem drives me up the wall probably cause Ive lost $100 worth of products cause of what I think would be an easy fix. Im fairly sure the clip itself is punched out so there is always distortion with a punch in die maybe laser cut or drill to lighten up distortion

Great Product
My sons bought it for me for Christmas, and the first time I used it was for castrating calves in the branding pen, it cut much faster than my regular knife. The hair and dirt are hard on the blades, and I castrated 60 calves and the blade was still sharp. It is very easy to handle and clean. Thank you for a great product.

Makes for a quick and efficient field dress of feral hogs
I own a plethora of high dollar custom made skinners and hunting knives that are  collecting dust in my safe. The Piranta Z is now my field companion when I step out my truck into the woods.

Excellent
I used my Piranta-Z to debone trout. This is rather delicate work especially for removing rib bones on pan size fish. Razor sharp and very clean slicing. Definitely a keeper!!!

Hunting pack essential
When headed outdoors this knife is always in my pack. It completely changed my experience field dressing and quartering game.  Ive quartered whole elk with only two blades and having a blade as sharp as this is truly invaluable.  Plus, it weighs practically nothing.  The only downside is that the blades take very little torque and cant safely be used to pry or dig anything substantial (i.e. elk knee joint), but I carry a small but stout buck knife for these tasks and Im very happy with this setup. Try one and youll be hooked.  Theyre great for the butchering table, too.

Excellent
This is an excellent knife. I use it while big game hunting in Montana and have found it to outperform every other knife Ive used or seen used.

The Havalon cut down my boning out time in half. It weighs next to nothing, which is particularly important for backpack hunters. The handle is sturdy and the small blade lets me make precise cuts (such as tloins without opening the gut cavity).

I broke two blades on the first elk I boned with the Havalon, mainly because I was torquing it against bone. No big deal, the blades cost next to nothing. With more experience, I learned to cut more carefully and let the knifes sharpness do the work.

Bottom line: if you want a functional hunting tool, look no further. This really works.

Great Blade
I used my Piranta to butcher a moose.  I used one blade for the whole moose, it stayed sharp the whole time.  I replaced the blade before my next hunt.
The blades are hard to change.  I use pliers to assist in the change.
The blades are extremely sharp (medical scapel sharp).  Use care when changing and keep your hands away when using.  Very sharp blade + finger = lots of blood

12 Big game animals and Counting.
I have used havalon to cape, quarter, and process twelve big game animals in the last three years. I generally pack into very remote areas. So, wieght minimization is critical. Carrying the havalon is like carring multiple knives. The last big game animal I used the havalon on was a shiras moose. I was able to completely breakdown and process the moose with just three blades! When you are caping a once in a lifetime trophy, you need a sharp blade to ensure you dont ruin the cape. Thats why I only use havalon blades while in the field.  I have also used my habalon piranta knife to process ducks, geese, grouse, chukars, and pheasants.

Phenomenal
I am sure no one else forgets to sharpen their knives!  This knife is always sharp, the blades are easy to change, and it is easy to use!  Every time I pull it out it is sharp and ready to go!  It is the only knife I use.

Great Knife
I run hounds and hunt big game in the back country. The weight in my pack is always a concern. I like how small the knife is and that the extra blades are light weight. The only time you have to be careful with the blades are when you are trying to cut through a joint. If you put to much side pressure on the blade it will break.

Best knife Ive ever used for skinning
This is the only knife I grab for when Im trapping.  I use it out on trapline to skin furbearers out when weight is an issue.  It also gets extensive use in the trap shed.  Ive used it to skin out several deer and one buffalo.  I have other skinners but they have taken a backseat to this knife.  Buy it and never look back.

My new "go to knife"
These knives are great for cutting and skinning game as long as you are cutting soft tissue and not trying to force it to cut through joints, bones and tough twisting jobs. I love the 22xt carbon steel blades and just helped a buddy skin and bone 2 Coues whitetails this week with the same blade in it!  .

Incredible Knives!
As a guide I use this knife all the time and it is always dependable. Just pop on a blade and instantly I have a knife that is razor sharp and ready for work. The small blade also makes caping or skinning in tight places a breeze. This is truly an awesome product.

Awesome little knife
Love this little knife. Extremely sharp blades are a snap to change when they become dull. Liner lock does its job. I have used this knife while hunting and fishing and you cant go wrong. Even when wet, still a firm grip. The only thing I would change is a little thicker blade (which theyve taken care of) and a little better glue on the rubber inserts. Other than that, a fantastic knife.

Extension of my right hand!
I purchased one of these just after they came out, what, 7-8 years ago. After hundreds of deer, really tough elk and moose, and a ton of bear my knife finally fell apart, the little screws either broke off or fell out. I must admit though I really beat this thing! They look delicate and are so light weight, but they are tough! Had to get another one, felt kinda lost without it.

The sharpest knife I have ever used
The only thing I would love to see is a thicker or stiffer blade for everyday use.Other than that it is a great knife.I use mine all the time.....unless I misplace it!!Last deer season I gutted 3 deer before I saw the blade getting a little dull but it was still sharper than my old standby folder.I am on deer 2 this year and am not changing it till I have to to see how many I can gut with one blade.

LOVE my Piranta!
Im a hunting guide in Texas and I hunt and guide my clients on everything from Hogs in Central Texas to Aoudad in West Texas. Most of the game we harvest my clients want caped out for mounts and my piranta is perfect for caping! I keep it in my glove box with about 10 extra blades and NEVER worry about keeping up with a sharpener or having to sharpen.
Id give it 6 stars if I could!

got to have this knife!!
As a professional guide and outfitter I use knives to the limit!  This knife with its replaceable blades is the best tool to come along in a long time for skinning, gutting or caping. I advise all my new guides to get one and quit worrying about whether they need 2 knives in case one gets dull. The only change I would have made is to make a stiffer blade and now you have done that so I am good!!

save time
I own 3 of these knives and they are fantastic! I have a skull cleaning business and use them to skin and prep specimens. I also keep one with a half dozen blades in my hunting bag for gutting and skinning in the field.  There is nothing easer than if a blade gets dull just replace it.

Best Knife I have Ever Used
I have used my Piranta multiple times now and am amazed by it every time. The first time I used it I skinned out an entire deer with one blade! My father-in-law and 2 brother-in-laws were blown away with how much faster and cleaner I was skinning the deer. This year I used it to skin and quarter a huge bull elk and again was blown away by how great this knife is!

This is the most awesome knife!
I went antelope hunting in Wyoming this year...my friend and I had a total of 4 antelope to work up.  I helped skin all 4 antelope and this knife did not lose its edge.  My friend was amazed.  What a great knife!  I have recommended it to my friends and also my sister-in-law for a Christmas gift for her husband that is an avid hunter. Thank you Havalon!  Kim from Wyoming

Love It
I am a big time hunter.  I have used my piranta for processing deer.  It is a great knife for skinning and quartering out deer meat.  It is not too great when it comes to field dressing a deer.  It can be a little sharp.  One slip and it is a mess.

Piranta-Z
I use this knife on an everyday basis and I love it. I carry it in my back pocket and because of its slim design it doesnt bother me like other knives I have carried do. The blades are razor sharp and are easy to replace. The only thing I dont like about it is that the blades break if you crank on them very hard, but I realize its not meant for a utility knife so its ok. I will take the good with the bad. Also the screws that hold the pocket clip will back out and fall out but a little lock-tite fixes that right up! Good Job Havalon!

...Amazing Knife...
This was my first Havalon knife. Bought it for an Alaskan Black Bear hunt. After getting the knife and trying it out, I convinced my brother he had to get one before the hunt. They were amazing knives. We each went through a few blades skinning out our bears, but that was better than stopping to sharpen. Since then, Ive purchased and given away two more knives, and convinced two other hunters to go buy Havalon knives. These things sell themselves in the field. I absolutely love them.

One Sweet Knife
I bought this knife mainly to use in the field for field dressing my tagged game. But Ive been wearing it everyday for general use and dont even know its on my belt, it so light weight and comfortable to wear and although I havent had the chance to use it for field dressing game, its one amazing light weight, rugged and very sharp knife. I have no doubt that with a quick change of the blade, it will be ready for me in seconds to use when I need it for field dressing and this knife will make quick work of it as well. I am beyond pleased with the purchase of my Havalon knife. I would like to add that the service was wonderful at purchase time, very quick and easy and I had my knife in just a few days. All in all I have nothing negative to say about the knife or my experience with Havalon, Thanks Havalon, Great job!

Awesome Knife
I bought two of these knives to help me field dress an 800 lb elk. Its very sharp and cuts with precision. Id recommend a bigger knife to cut out the back straps. One doesnt need precision for cutting that out.

My hunting party all have this knife. That becomes a problem when you go to clean your tools and someone thinks the knives are theirs.

Id highly recommend putting your initials on your knives or and identification markings to show theyre yours.

Very similar to going to a gathering and having a wine party. Only there is no way to find your wine glass once you set it down. :)

Great skinning knife
Have had my knife for 3 years now and think it is the best I have ever had.  Only little drawback is that it dulls pretty quickly when skinning pigs.  Takes 2 blades to fully dress a 50# pig.  But better and quicker than having to hand sharpen several times.  Have easily dressed pigs, deer, chickens and ducks.
