I love this knife. Im a taxidermist and this is great for any use but I primarily use it to skin deer heads. It stayed covered in the filth of a season of cleaning heads for a year. Right before the next season I cleaned it off and it had no corrosion and no deterioration of the finish at all.

I have 2 Havalon skinning knives.
I field dressed a 800+ lb moose. The thin very sharp blade made the precision cut along the belly effordless. Skinning this large animal wasnt a chore with this knife,1 blade did the whole moose. I let the guy that shot the moose try the other knife I have his first reaction was I gotta have one of these that says it all.
Thanks Havalon Knives.

I own 5 different Havalon knives. The handle design on the new Stag is by far the best. As a Taxidermist I use these knives a lot and this new grip design makes my job easier. I like that! Now please come out with a Yellow Stag so I will be less likely to lose it in the field.
Great products!

Perfect when you need to get dressed up
These knives are made for constant use. I carry mine every day clipped to my pants front left pocket. It will be nice to have one that isnt so brightly colored when dressed up.
These knives are just way too useful to be limited to the occasional skinning task.
The scalpel-like blade is not good for prying or cutting cubes of hard objects such as frozen meat.

I was hesitant at first, but I wound up skinning/caping, and quartering an entire bull moose in one 60a blade. I wanted to test the blade to its limits and I went on to skin and quarter an elk and a deer on the same blade! I am already buying an extra one. One of my best purchases!

Great knife, handles well. Be careful, very sharp. skinned and boned three deer and the blade was still razor sharp. made an easy job of it. only con I have with the knife is the clip that holds the blade on gets in the way when you are slicing some things and makes the blade seem shorter. knife could use slightly longer blade and it would be perfect. Definitely would recommend this product.

Ability to change blades is a great idea. Blade is rigid enough to stand-up to most use of a folding knife. Only concern is the size of thumb studs. IMO they should have extended at the least to the width of the frame so you could have opened easily one handed. Will purchase as gifts to both my sons.

This is the best one! Perfect handle!
This is in my opinion, the best design yet, it is a firm grip, good firm handle,
great side clip for the pocket, you get a sheath too... i own all of the knifes,
this is usually the one I use most, i like it for my leather cutting needs, it works better than any other knife you could get. I also like the Barracuda big blade model, this is also unusually great! fits very comfortable in a pocket, but the big bad blade is Awesome! I would get both if you want the best knifes money can buy, nothing is sharper, but a good leather strop is a must to really get the blade beyond scalpel sharpness, Be careful! one slip... your cut bad deep. do not let it get any near any kids, ever! and no drinking while using this knife, remember, this is no ordinary knife, it is super super sharp!
i hope this helps you decide, it is an awesome knife that deserves respect for the sharpness, design, usefulness, comfort and creativity. This the very best knife, that you could buy, simple as that! Get one! But be careful!
