I used this knife to help two friends skin and field buther a 71 1/2 inch bull moose in Alaska. Knife performance was so outstanding that my friends asked to use it. I used only one 60xt blade to do my share of the skinning and buthchering and the blade still had enough edge to do some cutting and packaging of the meat before easily changing to a new one. I look forward to using the knife on white tail this fall.

I recently purchased the Havalon Piranta Forge to replace a Havalon Piranta Torch that I lost. I like everything about the knife except that the blade pops off at the most inconvenient times. I just got back from a Texas Whitetail Hunt and came home disappointed with the knifes performance. I just couldnt keep the blades on the knife all the time. I lost the blade once while gutting an animal which made the job a lot riskier than I would have liked. (Luckily I was almost done when the blade came off) I also lost the blade while skinning and quartering which wasnt nearly as big of a deal, but still frustrating. I am returning this knife to where I bought it and will replace it with the Havalon Torch.

I bought the forge after wanting a piranta for a while. Apparently it was a good luck charm. The next day I killed my biggest buck ever and had the pleasure of putting the new knife to the test. This thing zipped through an entire 200+ pound deer from start to finish on one blade. Thats gutted, caped and skinned on one blade! The rubber grip is ridiculously comfortable and very non slip. Honestly Im kind of mad at myself for not buying a havalon sooner.
